Trademark registration is the process of securing exclusive legal rights to a brand name, slogan, or logo under the Trade Marks Act, 1999. It prevents competitors from using similar marks that could confuse customers. Once an application is filed, the client can use the TM symbol, and once registered (usually within 6–18 months), they can use the ® symbol. Registration provides a nationwide monopoly over the mark for the specific classes of goods or services selected.
