A trademark registration is not permanent; it is valid for a period of 10 years. Trademark Renewal is the process of extending this protection for another 10-year term. The application can be filed within one year before the expiry date. If a client misses the deadline, they enter a “Grace Period” of 6 months, but it requires a significantly higher fee. If not renewed even then, the mark is “Removed” from the register, though it can sometimes be “Restored” within one year of expiry.
