About This Service

Trademark Assignment is the process by which the ownership of a trademark is transferred from one party (Assignor) to another (Assignee). It is essentially a “Sale Deed” for a brand. This can be a “Full Assignment” (all rights transferred) or “Partial Assignment” (transfer restricted to certain goods/services). It can be done “With Goodwill” (transferring the brand’s reputation and customer loyalty) or “Without Goodwill” (transferring only the mark itself).

Eligibility & Criteria

  • Forms: TM-P (to record the transfer of ownership).
  • Timeline: Must ideally be filed within 6 months of the assignment deed execution.
Documents Required
  • Assignment Deed (signed and notarized)
  • NOC from the Assignor
  • Trademark Certificate
  • Identity proofs of both parties.
