An AD Code is a 14-digit number provided by the bank where the exporter maintains a current account. While the IEC is issued by the DGFT, the AD Code must be registered at every Customs Port (Airport/Sea Port) from which the goods are shipped. This registration ensures that the export proceeds (foreign currency) are tracked by the RBI and that any government incentives (like the RoDTEP scheme) are directly credited to the exporter’s bank account.
Eligibility & Criteria
- Forms: ICEGATE Portal registration and “Bank Account Management” application.
- Validity: Lifetime (unless the bank account changes).
